I am very excited about the launch of my free e-Book 10 Essential Things to Know Before Treating Concussions. This book is a 38-page digital book filled with all of the information that I feel is vital to have when working with patients with concussions and post-concussion syndrome.  These patients that are often suffering from severe daily headaches, chronic neck pain, nausea, dizziness, light sensitivity, anxiety, depression, and poor sleep are going to be some of the most complex patients you ever treat. Their headaches are not the same as the general public suffering from tension headaches or even migraines. Their physical pain is not the same as a healthy individual with an acute musculoskeletal injury.  Brain injuries, by their very nature, affect the central nervous system’s ability to inhibit pain, which means, we often have to take a different approach when working with this population.

I see in our profession a sincere interest and desire to help this population of people. The first step is recognizing that we will serve these people best through utilizing differential diagnoses from Traditional East Asian Medicines, and simultaneously have a deep understanding of the pathophysiology from a modern scientific perspective.

This free e-book contains 10 chapters that cover:

1. Having a systematic approach to understanding symptoms

2. Identifying how each individual concussion is manifesting

3. Explanations on why post-traumatic headaches are unique

4. Descriptions of the overlapping symptoms between concussions and whiplash

5. Flushing out how dysautonomia manifests differently in each patient

6. Insights into the important of assessing cognitive symptoms

7. Teasing out complexities of vestibular dysfunction and increasing awareness of how vestibular symptoms manifest

8. A discussion on the difference between visual processing and eye movement disorders

9. The importance of helping this population find the right support for anxiety and depression

10. The prevalence of sleeping disorders and different aspects of sleep architecture dysfunction

My goal was to pack as much essential information into an easy-to-read, straightforward guide that is available to anyone interested. To receive a copy of this free e-book click here.
